using REST-GCA for fMRI, especially apply the signed-path coefficients

Normally, the HRF is non-stationay and differs across regions. How to do the GCA using REST-GCA, especially the signed-path coefficients. Do I have to extract the fMRI time-series before spatial smoothingfrom ROIs and remove the global signal for making the BOLD time series more stationary for GCA??

This is the shortcoming of GCA, and this is why lots of people don't accept GCA on fMRI.
